___ The Proposal ___

Everything went down on April 18, 2010
In true Casanova fashion Shane concocted an elaborate plan to surprise me...and surprise surprise John (my Dad) was in on the whole plan.

Dad emailed us about a week before the proposal and told us of a Hot Air Balloon ride he had won in a golf outing the year before.  He explained it was going to expire by the end of April and he wanted someone to use it.  Of course, we jumped at the idea and planned to set flight on the evening of Sunday, April 18th.

I was a bit suspicious at first, but when Shane showed me the Balloon Odyssey Certificate it all seemed much more believable (of course, everything ended up being completely fake, Shane had it all created so I wouldn't ask questions).  It had everything a certificate should: the previous year's sticker, a compelling logo, an April 18th expiration date, and the Golf Outing the certificate was given by.

They two of us rode in the chase vehicle to Long Run Park where the adventure began (although this was after i agreed to go on an improptu girls trip to NOLA on the actual weekend he was planning to propose - but we'll save that story for another day - sorry shane!).  We helped inflate the balloon and climbed in the basket.  About 20 minutes into the flight Shane whispered in my ear, "Hey Babe, your dad didn't win this in a golf tournament...I planned all this out for us"

My response was a mix of confusion and butterflies...I turned and said
"Wait, what?! What do you mean?!"

He then dropped to one knee and further explained how he had staged the entire thing and asked meto marry him!  I of course said YESSS! And when we finally landed our families were there to great us with hugs and kisses and lots of pictures :)
And now here's where we are!
