Valentine's Day - 2018

Happy Love Day!! Unfortunately we've got a sick little on our hands which has put a little cloud over the most lovey dovey day of all. Looking back, it seems our kids have been sick almost every year on Valentine's Day. Ha! Go figure.

This year, our little B Bear has pneumonia ... so we're keeping him pumped with lots of fluids and meds, but we're gonna make the most of our day together. And, per tradition we'll be making heart shaped pizzas for dinner tonight.

I love looking back on previous years and reminiscing on all the fun memories we've made.
This year poor buddy has to miss his Valentine's party, he was so excited filling out all of his Valentine's and I hate he won't be there to pass then out to all of his friends. We'll be dropping them by the school in the morning - and hopefully picking up his little Valentine bag will give him a little pep to his step.

This year I hosted Valentine's Day Mini sessions for my clients at Katie Marie Photographie and to advertise I used my littles as models to spread awareness for the sessions. So, in honor of Valentine's Day here are some of my favorite captures from their mini session this year :) Siblinghood can go 0-60 reallllll fast :) Love them so!

The make me smile :)

New York Family Photo Session

We've made it to Thursday friends!! We've got a big doctor day down in Nash today. Meeting with some specialists for little Lainey - that we pray will be the final end to her portion of being associated with this health mess!! And I have my post op visit with my surgeon from my procedure last week. Needless to say, I am ready for the weekend!!

I've been working to gather some good content to share for the new year, but I'm back today with another round of photos :) sorry! Guys I've mentioned before how much I love a good family photo session. I think they are so much fun to look back on, and photography obviously holds a special place in my heart and my life. So, if you stick with me you're probably going to be forced to look at my family's sessions for years to come. My poor children :) the fixing of the hair, the screaming to "act like you love each other", the forced "SMILE THE RIGHT WAY"stress. God love them. Years to come my friends. Years to come.

Anyways, you may remember my daddy-o turned the big 6-0 this year. And when a man in your life that special celebrates a birthday like 60, a new book or something of the like just wasn't going to cut it for a birthday gift. So, my brothers and I chipped in and hired a professional photographer, Josephine Walden, to meet up with us one day on our Thanksgiving Trip to NYC. Recaps of trip part 1, trip part 2, trip part 3 can be found in those links.

We chatted with Josephine, who was AMAZING to work with, and came up with a plan to have photos taken in Dumbo, Brooklyn. She sent us some examples and we knew it would be perfect. Our parents have been taking us to NwiYC every other year for Thanksgiving since we were little kids and going to the Big Apple is far and away one of our favorite traditions. The city, the family, the fun - it's amazing. So when Josephine showed us the backdrop of the city, coupled with the opportunity for some shots with the Brooklyn bridge, famous NY style pizza, an ice cream factory and a nearby park we knew it was THE spot for our family.

It was such a fun way to spend what is normally an over priced retail day, all together and enjoying a new part of the city we hadn't much explored in the past. And guys, the pictures turned out perfect. We will forever treasure them and we all have them to look back on! I can't recommend Josephine enough if you're ever in the city and need some shots on a whim!

And finally, here's a little looksie at our NYC family photo session this November:

Happy Birthday Dad! Here's to 60 more together!
