Watch Out!

Ya'll remember how I told you I LOOOOVE September? Well, this year September decided to start off with a bang and test my love for the month. And by bang I mean kidney stones + 7 months of pregnancy + preterm labor + hospital stays + moderate bed rest on Labor Day Weekend. Ayyyyyiiiiiyiiiiii!
Thank goodness for my sweet little visitor that came to keep me company and watch cartoons while baby moon was being monitored! (I had nearly this exact same thing happen to me when I was pregnant with Bennett - I was almost 32 weeks and it was Derby Day 2013. My babies and pregnancy sure like to keep it interesting!)

The good news is, I am discharged from the hospital. We believe whatever was causing the kidney pain has now subsided, the contractions are at bay and hopefully I am well on my way to getting better. The bad news ... bed rest leads to a lot of boredom and therefore, A LOT of online shopping.

And because September is packed with magical things like my anniversary and birthday, I've spent more time shopping for myself this past weekend than I care to admit! For today I thought I'd share the watches I've been eyeing.

I've never considered myself a watch type of girl. I feel like I have short forearms and watches tend to make them look even smaller, but when I found this one sometime last year it quickly became one of my staple pieces of jewelry and I've been on the lookout for another one ever since.

Because I purchased that above beauty in Rose Gold, I think if I were to buy something else, I would be looking for a silver or a silver gold mix. I would also be interested in a regular gold at some point too, but for now - I just need something to leverage my silver items with. So here's what I'm digging - all have the smaller/mini face - that is a MUST for me.
Watch Out
Lucky for you I shopped for more than just watches and I'll be sure to share in the upcoming days :) but for now, back to bad TV and bed rest. Laters.

Playground Pretties

During one of our recent treks back to the bluegrass, we visited PaPaw and GoGo to check out their new playground they had built for the grand-kids on their future plot of land. It sits very close to their current home and they're making a path to it through the woods ... "Ohhhh Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we gooooo!" - I can't help but sing this in my head every time they talk about it. I think if they ever move in I'll buy this for them as a housewarming present, even if it means something to only me.

Mom's getting her very own green house and dad has a helluva mancave/barn. I'm not going to say it's their dream home, because my parents aren't really what you would call "lifer" type of people in that they could settle on one home or one location forever (Shane and I too have that blessed/cursed gene ... I've talked about it before). But, I would say they have spent the most time talking about this house and taking their time to ensure they are getting everything they want.

In doing so, they had a custom play set built for the kiddos and because Bennett is the first grandchild, he was the lucky one to break it all in. I'd had a shoot that morning, so I had all of my gear in the car and brought out my camera to catch a few snapshots of him playing on the new digs. Thought I'd share a few today and for just a moment try to imagine how big and magical that playground must seem to him.

The world really should be viewed through the eyes of a child. It's so much more magical. Thanks PaPaw and GoGo! We can't wait for many many more adventures.

BlueDaisy in Music City

Well hey there new blog header!  Gosh, it's so hard to believe I've been coming here and checking in on life for nearly THREE years this October. I never in a million years thought I would enjoy it as much as I do, but especially now that I have kids having an online journal and walking back through old posts and seeing where we were/how far we've come/etc. is really awesome.

You may have noticed, I officially made the change header change and we're now "BlueDaisy *in music city*"  I hadn't really thought about it, until I was at my highschool reunion and one of my long time pals asked me about it. Duh Katie! You moved out of the bluegrass state! Time to update you blog :)

For old time sake let's take a brief walk down memory lane of where we started ...

  1. BlueDaisy in The Bluegrass - Original
  2. BlueDaisy in The Bluegrass - Second Generation
  3. BlueDaisy in The Bluegrass - Third Generation
  4. BlueDaisy in The Bluegrass - Fourth Generation
  5. BlueDaisy in Music City - Fifth Generation
Thanks to anyone that's stuck around from the beginning :) I updated my signature and added a little gold pizzazz to that too. I guess I was feeling feisty. Well I don't know about you all, but I'm off to wrangle an overactive toddler ALL DAY. Hubs is working a festival tonight and my child woke up with more energy than his entire toddler class combined. So I'm off to find ways to keep him EXTRA busy and keep my sanity.

Happy Hump Day -- it's almost Labor Day Weekend!

September Goals

Hey there September. I love the sight of you. I love everything you bring. I love everything I get to celebrate. I just love you. Welcome.
With Bennett officially in school two days a week, it's time to get cracking before baby moon arrives in early November. I've got a long to-do list and only 16 day solo days to do it!  I thought I'd jot some down to try and hold myself accountable. Here's what I'm setting out to tackle/put on my honey-do list:

At Home:
  1. Purchase some awesome patio furniture - find a great sale
  2. Pick out and purchase a rug for Baby Moon's nursery
  3. Paint an accent wall in my home office
  4. Sew accessory fabric on my kitchen drapes
  5. Pick out / hang and install drapes in the living room
  6. Pick out / hang and install drapes in the master bedroom
  7. Pick out and purchase a rug for the master bedroom
  8. Find a small shed for backyard to house Bennett's toys
  9. Post and get rid of leftover items from the move that are taking up garage space
  10. Find a hutch/changing table for the laundry room
  11. Move shelving unit from garage to Master Bedroom
  12. Get blinds installed for nursery + Bennett's room
  13. Pick out curtains for nursery
In the Kitchen:
  1. Commit to purchasing healthier items at the grocery store
  2. Finding a place for all the baby items (bottles/highchair/etc)
  3. Baby proofing the cabinets
In Business:
  1. Getting my maternity leave folder updated
  2. Wrapping up big projects
  3. Setting all fall shoots to be wrapped and edited by October 30th
In life:
  1. Finding time to nap
  2. Find time to get my hair did
  3. Installing all baby gear (new car seat, etc)
Okay, I need to stop. I'm already overwhelmed. Time to go back to simply enjoying that it's September :)
