Birthday Wishes

I told ya'll to watch out last week or two weeks ago or something like that, because I love September. I feel like this September is FLYING by and is filled with all things baby, and I'm okay with that! I'm back today to share some more birthday wishes (per my mother's request, hehe).

Like I said, I'm so nesting/baby focused right now it's hard to even think about things I want for myself ... but if I had to pick four items I'm always lusting ... here they are:

birthday wishes
1. Lens Love : I mentioned a while back here, when I was having mommy meltdowns and what not ... but I really really want this lens.

2. Pioneer Woman's Cookware : her line from Walmart is PHENOM!  These are my four favorite pieces (and what I have room for in my kitchen right now) in addition to her pretty teal glass tumblers that for some reason it wouldn't allow me to pin on Polyvore today hmph! It is my goal to meet that woman one day. She's so great.

3. Delicate Layering necklaces : I love these four. But really I love them all. They are a great way to add a little something, but still be understated. And they seem manageable with grabby new baby hands :)

4. Scarves : Katie and Scarves should basically go together at all times. Especially starting late September. They're part of my uniform and I love them. I'm into plaid this season!

So, aside from baby bags, diaper genies + monogrammed car seat covers ... these are my wishes! Happy Birthday September babies!

THOSE Boys

So there's this boy ... I knew him when we were in our teens but was never interested in him. And then one day, many years later in college he asked me to his fraternity's fall formal and I noticed he was one of THOSE boys.
I never stood a chance.

Even later I saw him on campus in sweatpants and a backwards hat. Then I moved to Italy and proceeded to call him and fall in love with him and his skype renditions of 90's boy band songs. Then after college he proposed. 16 months later we tied the knot.  A year and a half after that we gave birth to our son. Two years after that we're expecting our second baby. And now nearly 8 years of love nonsense later later we're celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary, and he's still one of THOSE boys.
I mean, goodness he's handsome.

And he still melts my heart with backwards hats.
Moment of silence for that smile and those eyes. Ahem.

And watching him be a daddy ya'll.
Good grief.

Yep, that boy. The one with the dark hair and the blue eyes. He stole my heart a loonnng time ago and he's still got me. Hook line and sinker.
Happy Anniversary hubs ... can't wait to stuff our faces with popcorn tonight at the movies :)

Final Touches

Ya'll we're getting really close to being a family of four. I'm talking like single digit weeks left. Holy moly.  It's time to get things moving. I got a phone call the other night that MaKenzie had everything on order and we were ready to go~EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK.

That + bedrest has left me with a bit of a panic that it's time to start nailing down the finishing touches. I've got all the big things, the furniture is in and assembled. The gender specific bedding, accents etc. are ordered and on their way. So that leaves my procrastination items and I think I'm close to rounding up my list. Here is everything I can currently think of that I need to secure in the coming weeks to finish the final touches for baby moon.
Final Touches

  1. The Curtains: Penny will be here this week to give Hubby and I an anniversary date night and we're gonna knock this one out. I'm loving the idea of picking a fun neutral fabric and adding little balled tassels on the ends.
  2. The Lavender Rug / The Orange Rug: I've narrowed it to these two lovelies and placed my order thanks to awesome Labor Day Sales. Just hoping I love them in person as much as I do online.
  3. A side table: I am LOVING this pedestal table from the RH Baby line. I definitely want a circular table and think this may be the one!
  4. The Halo Bassinet: I'm still undecided on this one - but I think I want it. It's got great reviews and looks so perfect for my C-section recovery. I'm really considering pulling the trigger.
  5. The Diaper Genie: Duh! This was obviously a baby registry item that I need to purchase myself this time around. Must have.
  6. Graco Noise Machine: Sorry, Bennett's not ready to hand his down just yet. Baby moon is in need of his/her own.
  7. Newborn Diapers: Gotta stock up on those teeny tiny little ones again! Thanks to Hub's diaper shower last go round, I don't think we every purchased diapers. But this time - time to hit up Costco!
  8. Soothies: Bennett lost interest in these types of pacis wayyy earlier than planned and MaKenzie's girls were still all about them (and she had three - HA!), so I gave her all of mine. Time to snag a few for that wittle nugget!
  9. Second Monitor Camera: Time to add more gadgets to our rooms! Luckily we've got a monitor that allows the addition of a second camera (up to 3 more!) so just need to purchase the camera for Moon's room.

So there we have it.  Can you guys think of anything else I'm missing. I'm really missing my registry list right about now - and those "I loved this when I was a mom" gifts that I was so thankful for last time.  Because right now I'm staring at 9 things and about 9 weeks left. Maybe if I set out to purchase one item a week I'll actually be ready for this little one. Maybe. But I'm sure I'm forgetting something, sheesh :)

Watch Out!

Ya'll remember how I told you I LOOOOVE September? Well, this year September decided to start off with a bang and test my love for the month. And by bang I mean kidney stones + 7 months of pregnancy + preterm labor + hospital stays + moderate bed rest on Labor Day Weekend. Ayyyyyiiiiiyiiiiii!
Thank goodness for my sweet little visitor that came to keep me company and watch cartoons while baby moon was being monitored! (I had nearly this exact same thing happen to me when I was pregnant with Bennett - I was almost 32 weeks and it was Derby Day 2013. My babies and pregnancy sure like to keep it interesting!)

The good news is, I am discharged from the hospital. We believe whatever was causing the kidney pain has now subsided, the contractions are at bay and hopefully I am well on my way to getting better. The bad news ... bed rest leads to a lot of boredom and therefore, A LOT of online shopping.

And because September is packed with magical things like my anniversary and birthday, I've spent more time shopping for myself this past weekend than I care to admit! For today I thought I'd share the watches I've been eyeing.

I've never considered myself a watch type of girl. I feel like I have short forearms and watches tend to make them look even smaller, but when I found this one sometime last year it quickly became one of my staple pieces of jewelry and I've been on the lookout for another one ever since.

Because I purchased that above beauty in Rose Gold, I think if I were to buy something else, I would be looking for a silver or a silver gold mix. I would also be interested in a regular gold at some point too, but for now - I just need something to leverage my silver items with. So here's what I'm digging - all have the smaller/mini face - that is a MUST for me.
Watch Out
Lucky for you I shopped for more than just watches and I'll be sure to share in the upcoming days :) but for now, back to bad TV and bed rest. Laters.
